Hand and Fingres Pain : (educational purposes), Common hand problems
Hand pain can affect all joints of the hand, especially finger joints between the phalanges.
It will lead to numbness, tingling, or weakness in the hand and fingers .
These symptoms are found in the thumb index middle and half of the ring fingers can lead a trophy of the muscles of the hand and fingers
The ulnar nerve is pressured at the area of the medial elbow near the "funny bone"
when the nerve is compressed that causes numbness and tingling of the little finger and the other half of the ring finger .
If the nervous compressed below the elbow the profundus muscle for four and five fingers will work and causes "claw hand"
it is an inflammation and irritation causing pain and swelling and weakness and all over time the patient will lose the joint cartilage, there will be an attrition of the tendons and rupture in addition to that the joints will go see Lisa blocks and will be "an unlar draft"
It he can hear a clack as you move the finger from flexion to extension the flexor tendon becomes thick irritated as it slides through the tendon Pulley causing a thickened nodule and triggering of the tendon as the fingers moves
There's a difference between "De Quevain's syndrome" and "arthritis of the basal joint of the thumb" the finklestein's Test for the De Quervain's syndrome and that test is done by having the patient make a fest with the fingers closed over the thumb and the wrist is bent towards the little finger
The hand is pulled so that involved tendons are stretched causing sharp local pain of the injury or the inflammation is present
the kanavel's four signs are :
Common hand problems:
Carple tunnel syndrome
Pressure on the median nerve causing pain over the rest and the fingers compression of the median nerve at the wristIt will lead to numbness, tingling, or weakness in the hand and fingers .
These symptoms are found in the thumb index middle and half of the ring fingers can lead a trophy of the muscles of the hand and fingers
Cubital tunnel syndrome
Pain at the small finger and half of the ring finger, the pain originates at the medial elbow where the nerve is compressedThe ulnar nerve is pressured at the area of the medial elbow near the "funny bone"
when the nerve is compressed that causes numbness and tingling of the little finger and the other half of the ring finger .
If the nervous compressed below the elbow the profundus muscle for four and five fingers will work and causes "claw hand"
Osteoarthritis
the pain typically affecting the interphalangeal joints of the fingers and thumb. it is a degenerative joint disease of unknown etiology causing gradual deterioration of the cartilage forming the joint of the hand and fingersRheumatoid arthritis
Pain located at the molecules of the fingers and that the rest on the side of the small fingerit is an inflammation and irritation causing pain and swelling and weakness and all over time the patient will lose the joint cartilage, there will be an attrition of the tendons and rupture in addition to that the joints will go see Lisa blocks and will be "an unlar draft"
Trigger finger
The finger pain may be located in the palm and the base of the finger, this condition affected the tendons of the fingers including the thumb causing the finger to remain bent when attempt to straightenIt he can hear a clack as you move the finger from flexion to extension the flexor tendon becomes thick irritated as it slides through the tendon Pulley causing a thickened nodule and triggering of the tendon as the fingers moves
De Quervain syndrome
Pain is located over the radial side of the wrist, it causes difficulty in grabbing with the hand specifically with the thumb, it occurs due to inflammation of the sheath or the tunnel that surrounds the two tendons that control movement of the thumbBasal Thumb joint Arthtitis
Pain is located at the base of the thumb "CMC joint" ,this condition would result in pain and restricted movement of the thumb across the palmThere's a difference between "De Quevain's syndrome" and "arthritis of the basal joint of the thumb" the finklestein's Test for the De Quervain's syndrome and that test is done by having the patient make a fest with the fingers closed over the thumb and the wrist is bent towards the little finger
The hand is pulled so that involved tendons are stretched causing sharp local pain of the injury or the inflammation is present
The grind test
The grind test is done for basalr Thumb arthritis do we do it by axial load and pushing and rotating the thumb metacarpal bone, grinding may be felt within the jointFlexo tenosynovitis
This is an infection case the pain is located in the finger at the flexor tendon sheath we use the kanavel's signthe kanavel's four signs are :
- 1 uniform swelling of the entire finger
- 2 the finger is flexed
- 3 intense pain when attempt to straight in the fingers
- 4 tenderness along the course of the attendance sheet
