What is Sciatica nerve ?

Sciatica is a pain which starts in the lower back and extends through the buttock to your leg. It is due to the compression or irritation of the longest nerve of your body, also called sciatic nerve. 

this nerve starts in your spine and go through the bottock down to the back of the leg. Lower back pain is often mistakenly called sciatica. 

The pain ranges from slight to Severe and feel sharp and aching. the shooting pains can cause difficulty in standing up erect

Symptomes of Sciatica nerve 

Besides pain other complaints may be present like weakness of the muscles, numbness, or tingling in the leg foot or toes. you may also have muscle cramps in your buttock or leg, and diminished reflexes both knees and ankles. 

Even though it's quite painful, sciatica hardly becomes chronic and the pain usually goes away spontaneously. 

Sciatica nerve Causes

Sciatica can be caused by pressure on the nerve, pregnancy, childbirth, and heavy lifting can also trigger it. Rarely it can be caused by herniation or tumor

The pain can also be related to narrowing of the vertebral canal the verbiage syndrome.
